  1. You floor press 345? Holy %^@#%.

Question for you: Have you ever gotten any weird ribcage stuff after benching? Last night I did some heavy dumbbell presses after sets at the bar, and last night and this morning I feel like my ribs are pushing into my heart. And that I can't take really deep breaths. It's getting better, but it's a little scary. I know--assume--you're not a doctor, but I'd love to hear from other bench pressers if anyone has experienced this, and what to do! Thanks.

  2. LOL thanks its coming along, one more weeks and I will go back to the bench and get ready for a meet coming up, see how I am and if the shoulder will let me get back in the 400's

as for the question. Im betting your just super tight the pecs are prob pulling in hard from all the work. Id stretch. If you were benching correct and getting a belly full of air to and expanding the rib cage could be those lil intercostal muscles have tightened up in the shirt term as well.

Learn to breath in your belly and maybe go sit somewhere for a few mins relax and just take in Nice long deep breaths get everything to relax and stretch those pecs.

Doesnt sound serious sounds like simple tightness

    Cheers amy

  3. Thanks for the advice. I'm feeling better in general and no longer like I'm knocking at death's door, but you're right--serious stretching is in order.

All the best to you and your shoulder. I have a meet next week, too, but after a few months off I'm only going to lift the same as I did in the spring. Oh well--we're mostly trying to compete with ourselves, right?

  4. That's right especially after injury its all about being better than we were yesterday or last week, If your in it to beat anyone but you your in it for the wrong reason. the other accolades come by default of better yourself for yourself
