  1. "That's it," he says. As if that wasn't major work! Good job.

  2. LOL thanks Amy. It wasnt much now that i am trying to learn to change my focus to Highland games from a powerlifting and strongman background where the gym was my sport. Old habits die hard. Im going to have to come in hit it hard and fast and get out and make more time for throwing heavy things in a kilt :)

  3. Slightly offtopic (for which I hope you will forgive me for) but I thought that you might like to know that Slyvester McCoy (who is known for his role as Doctor Who from 1987 to 1996) has been made a Highland chieftain for the Scottish Highland Games season in his native Scotland

  4. Good luck with the kilt. Personally, I'm transitioning from benching at low-key competitions wearing whatever I want to the pause-at-the-chest and wear-a-singlet kind. So we're both dealing with fashion issues here...

  5. Thanks for the info Harry.

Amy LOL I don't mind the Kilt at all it's mainly the transition from a linear gym based sport to a sport that's all about rotational power mainly cutting the gym time way down as Im strong enough and having the maturity to be humbled and working on technique

  6. Gotcha--and I think I saw on my Staley update e-mail that you just had some success! So congrats on that. I'm thinking of transitioning from benching into boxing, so same thing: strength is one thing, but now technique and power come into play.

  7. For sure its a hard but fun transition to a new sport. Boxing is a great time I did a bit.

I did OK better than expected with the minimal practice. Now to to put my nose to the grind stone and get to work :)
