The Addictive, All-Or-Nothing Personality: Your Strongest Tool Or Your Worst Enemy? "No Problem, its Done" - Part 3

By Phil Stevens

In this third installment I am going delve into the positive aspects of having this personality trait. Explain the powers it lends those of us who have it.

What is it that causes the fast rises, the "never say never" ability to reach goals that may seem unattainable to others. Oddly enough you're going to see a TON of overlap in the negative traits and the positive traits. They are almost, or at times are identical.

Our strong headed ability to put the blinders on our own mind, emotions, feelings, and physical well being in order to reach a goals we have set for ourselves, can be a positive or negative at times. Its all in how we use them. In this installment I will ID those positive traits and in the next installment show how we harness them learn to skirt that fine line with some examples.

"You cant.."

Again, this cant be stressed enough the power of these two simple words to us "You cant." The two most powerful words in the world for us. They mean a challenge. To prove others or our selves wrong, push the boundaries once again and light hat fire in us that keeps us rolling. Keep us aimed and shooting for something and you keep us happy, never one part of us sitting idle for to long and even when we are we are just planning and resting for our next assault on something we see as great.

"Stress sweet Stress"

Be it physical mental what not it is the root of our fuel. We have learned to thrive in stressful situations to the point at we seek it in what we do to be at our best. Not just a tad of stress but we pile it on until there is nothing left to do, no time for long drawing out thinking, its only time for physical action and spilt second decisions.

We plan yes but our planning stages are also simply times when we are pilling up a large mass of bricks to be laid. It's what Dave Tate calls the two speeds he has, Blast and Dust. We build it up. Let things strategically compile and then its go time. Enough stressors have built its time to take the bull by the horns. When things around us are seemingly at the worst and we are in the most stressful situations we always appear calm and collective.

"Turned On"

It's at this point we turn it on, and have that innate ability to turn off anything else in our way, our lives, lose days, hours, months and years if needed to get the job done. If a bit of the stress is gone and we chip away some of the barriers we have more we stack on to take their place. "BRING IT" its in the go times we are seemingly unstoppable. Nothing can get to us physically, mentally or emotionally enough to wave us from our destination.

The path has been chosen and we will NOT fail. It doesn't matte how bad things look, how dismal, or impossible. In our heads no matter what the world or other people throw at us No question, we made out decision, no question we will do it.

"Spite"

The BIG one. Spite. Throw spite at us and now we got fuel. Its directly related right back to the "you cant". You wont, etc. If someone else has it in their head to tell us we cant do something, Watch the hell out. It's time for a whole new gear.

Oddly enough however most of us, my self included, though we may do things in spite and because people say we cant, we wont hurt anyone but ourselves directly in our pursuits. We may crush our selves but in the majority, what Ive seen, we are also the most caring and giving people. Those who would put our true friends and family before our own selves our own lives.

Many times the missions and stressors we chose directly help better others, or causes we care for. We would give the shirt off our backs and step in the line of fire, into emotional and physical pain for our loved ones. We don't care about mental, physical, or emotional pain and stress on us, as we again have that ability to make it a non issue. What doesn't exist in our world, in our plan, doesn't matter, doesn't get felt or even recognized. Even physical pain. We have skin thicker then steel, but hurt, disrupt, or even threaten one of the few we do call true friends or loved ones and you better watch the hell out.

"We Don't Mind, Cause It, or You, Don't matter"

Much like our ability to falsely empower things we have the ability to simply make things not matter at all. No matter what or whom it is if its in our way. Trying to work against us in any fashion we have a unique ability to make it disappear. Usually not by actual removal, but by just making things not exist in our world. it's a great and liberating ability and one everyone should practice, placing all the power in your own hands. The realization that NOTHING not a damn thing out side of you has any more power over you then you allow it.

It's also, as explained in the last installment, a tough task. One that itself can lead to some self destruction, or negatives. If you don't walk that fine line, keep ties on your own self , and surround yourself with people who realize and accept who you are, the kind of person you are, it can be a hell of a head ache for you or others. Though again it is a very powerful ability and possibly the most powerful one a person can have. Self, positive empowerment.

That will cover it for this installment. I hope this strikes some good dialogue. I feel this can both be good for those with this personality.

Those who have experienced many of the same things or those who are at risk of it. As well informational for those who don't have this trait of simply making anything they desire happen. Possibly some people can ID these skills, learn them. And in the next installment how to harness the good and the bad to work for us.

Until the next installment. ID some of these traits practice them, make something positive happen, no questions asked. Allow yourself to Kick ass.
